About

Knit Net connects fiber artists around the world, providing a platform to document, share, and promote their work.

In 2022, Clarissa Rubin, the founder of Knit Net, recognized a gap in the digital landscape for the new generation of makers. While studying at Parsons School of Design, she was immersed in a vibrant community of creative designers. She began hosting monthly knit circle for her and her peers. Despite the interest in hand crafts, she noticed a lack of digital spaces where knitwear artists could connect and share their work.

Though there were various pockets of fiber artist communities on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Reddit, there was no single hub for designers to come together. This realization inspired Clarissa to create Knit Net—a mobile app designed to bridge this gap. Knit Net allows fiber artists to track and manage their projects, while fostering meaningful connections with their peers in a unified space.

Clarissa Rubin - Founder, CEO

Clarissa graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BA in Fashion Design and a minor in business, Clarissa combined her academic background with a deep personal connection to knitting and crocheting—skills she inherited from her grandmother. Her passion for knitwear and her desire to foster a sense of community among designers led to the creation of Knit Net.

Knit Net is a platform for sharing and managing knitwear projects- it’s not just about the garments, but about building a network of designers to connect and learn from each other. Through Knit Net, Clarissa aims to preserve the artistry of knitting while innovating and expanding its possibilities for the future.

Christian rodriguez - CTO

Christian studied computer science at Drexel University and Hunter College. Clarissa approached him with the Knit Net idea in the fall of 2022 and he quickly began coding the app we all know and love today.

After launching the app in May 2024, he picked up crochet and is now an active user on the app. As his fiber skills develop, he is constantly looking for feedback on how the app can simplify the creative process for all knitters and crocheters.
